  • Electronics Technician: Avionics Systems

    We are currently seeking an avionics technician with experience assembling, integrating, and testing avionics, to join our software and avionics group. The position will require work on components such as flight computers, control systems, servo actuators, displays, transceivers, power supplies, wire harnesses, test fixtures, etc. The candidate must be able to build, install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical assemblies using industry standard methods, while maintaining records and logs.



    Required:

          • Minimum of a high school diploma with three or more years experience as a technician or aviation mechanic installing aircraft electronics and systems
          • Working knowledge of basic electronics
          • Must be able to work from drawings with minimal guidance
          • Strong soldering and mechanical assembly skills
          • Understanding and use of basic electronics tools (Oscilloscope, DMM, crimpers, basic shop equipment, etc)
          • Strong background in troubleshooting and repair of wiring and avionics systems
          • Able to select and manage parts from a BOM, assemble boards and test
          • Good communication, problem solving and organizational skills
          • Working knowledge of basic computer applications

    Desired:

          • Electronics Associate degree, military training or above
          • Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent schematic/drawing tools
          • Experience with electromechanical systems and sensors (servos, motors, shaft encoders)

The position will require work on components such as power electronics, DC/DC converters, >100kW inverters, wire harnesses, test fixtures, analog electronics boards, etc. The candidate must be able to build, install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical assemblies using industry standard methods, while maintaining records and logs.


    Requirements:

          • Five or more years experience as a technician assembling electromechanical mechanisms and/or power electronic assemblies is required.
          • Working knowledge of basic electronics
          • Must be able to work from procedures and drawings with minimal guidance
          • Strong soldering and mechanical assembly skills
          • Understanding and use of basic electronics tools (Oscilloscope, DMM, crimpers, basic shop equipment, etc)

  • Composites Design Engineer

    Develop composite primary structural components for small aircraft dealing with weight sensitive design and minimum gage structures, as well as tooling design and fabrication. Work with laminate drawings and manufacturing processes, metallic parts and combined assemblies with composites and metal, co-cured and secondary bonded structures. Responsible for delivery of work and supporting designs from concept to manufacture. Design major structural composite aircraft components such as wings, fuselages or landing gear. Work with the structural design of primary flight structures and load paths. Involved with initial concept studies to detail part design, tooling design and manufacture. Evaluate different designs with regard to manufacturing and tooling utilizing expertise with composites production environment.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Five (5) years experience* with:

          • Designing composite and metallic structures for aircraft;
          • Taking structural design concepts to detail part design, through manufacture; evaluating different design concepts with regards to structural performance, manufacturability, and cost;
          • Composites manufacturing processes including part design, laminate drawings and tooling design;
          • Utilizing Solidworks, CATIA, or other CAD tools in the design of composite and metallic aircraft structures; and
          • Weight sensitive design, including strength and stiffness driven composite design, and minimum gauge composite structures.
    *Experience concurrent with the above-referred-to industry experience.
